This is something it took me a long time to realize, and I'm telling you now so you can save yourself years of frustration:

When you write a song, you can't worry about whether everyone else on the planet is going to like it.

YOU have to decide what YOU want to write.

If you want to write a rock song, do it! If you're more into acoustic stuff, do that!

It's all about finding your voice as a songwriter. YOUR voice, not anyone else's. :)
