Hello friends,
In between filming guitar tutorials, I've been penning some original tunes and recording some demos. Here's a song I cut together early this week entitled "Change Your Mind." I've also been in the studio recording a more polished EP, you can expect that to be ready very soon!

I want to mention that nothing has fueled my progress as a musician quite like writing and recording my own original work. I strongly recommend that you use the guitar as a creative outlet, and focus on applying the techniques we have covered. Here are a few tips to help you get started:

1) Fill your day with great music.

2) Study your favorite songs - The progression, rhythm, riffs, & licks can all be used as raw material for your original work.

3) If you're not ready to write lyrics, I recommend putting well know poems to music. This will build your creative muscle.

4) Take your favorite tune and rip it off! That's right, change the key, substitute a few chords, and copy the rhyming scheme to create an entirely new song.

5) Hum, sing, whistle all day and try to come up with melodies. Be sure to keep your phone handy so you can record your ideas.
