In today's acoustic blues guitar lesson, we learn why every guitarist needs the blues and the 4 steps to play it. I make the case that blues is fundamental to a guitar education because of several historical and musical reasons which I cover thoughout the video. By memorizing the 12-bar blues form, the minor pentatonic and blues scales, learning how to shuffle and groove, and learning the articulations, phrasings and techniques involved, we can start to get the blues going in our own playing which will likely assist and extend to virtually every other genre as well.
