Staccato and legato aren't just terms in a textbook — they're two completely
different ways to shape the same note, and once you can hear the difference,
it changes how you play everything from scales to riffs.

I play the same quarter notes two ways: connected and smooth (legato), and
with space between them (staccato). Here's the catch — if you play staccato
too aggressively, the notes stop being quarter notes on paper, even if that
was never your intention as a player. That gap between what's written and what
you actually hear is something every guitarist runs into eventually.

Which is really the point of this whole video: music theory gives you the
vocabulary, but your ears are still what matter most. I'd rather you listen to
a song first and use theory to understand it deeper, than stare at a chart and
never make the connection to what you're actually hearing.
