Watch Peter Hayes of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club perform an acoustic rendition of "Shuffle Your Feet" on Gibson TV’s The Songbook series, playing a Gibson J-45 acoustic guitar.

Peter Hayes first picked up the guitar at 14, experimenting with his mother’s classical guitar. As he developed his skills, she introduced him to flamenco and intricate fingerpicking styles—techniques that would go on to shape his unique playing approach.

Before co-founding Black Rebel Motorcycle Club with Robert Levon Been in 1998, Peter was a member of The Brian Jonestown Massacre. Today, B.R.M.C. as they're affectionately known, is renowned for its distinct fusion of hard rock, blues, country, and acoustic elements, creating a sound that’s instantly recognisable, with dual vocals from both Peter and Robert.

In this episode of The Songbook, Peter delivers a beautifully stripped-back version of "Shuffle Your Feet", the opening track from Howl—B.R.M.C.'s critically acclaimed 2005 acoustic-driven album. Fans of the band won’t want to miss this intimate performance. Click the related video to watch the entire performance and interview with Peter.
