I've been playing a lot of really heavy music for a project lately and I've noticed that an upward pick angle seems to get a more aggressive tone and it is easier to get through the strings when playing really fast aggressive rhythm guitar parts. This video is about pick angle for this style of music specifically and a little about Shawn Lane's picking influence on me :)

I'm really into knives and cut my finger pretty bad while I was sharpening last night. That's why I can't use my fretting hand in this vid... sorry about that. Be careful when sharpening your knives guitar players :)
