Originally introduced in 1955, the Les Paul Special was inspired by the design of the Les Paul Junior. Building upon a solid foundation, the Special took the mahogany slab body design of the Junior and added a neck pickup and more controls, bringing significantly more tonal choices to the player. The two P-90 single-coil pickups provide a wide range of tonal options from rock to roots and everywhere in between.
