The Fender American Original '60s Precision Bass features Fender's Pure Vintage '63 P Bass split-coil pickup. Like the Pure Vintage '58 pickups found in the '50s Precision Bass, period features include enamel-coated coil wire, cloth-covered output wires, fiber bobbin construction and AlNiCo 5 magnets.
The Alder body features a ā1963 Cā maple neck, a 9.5ā-radius round-laminated rosewood fingerboard with vintage clay dot inlays and 20 Vintage Tall Frets. The '60s Precision Bass has Pure Vintage Reverse Open-gear tuners, a 4-Saddle bridge with threaded steel saddles and a 4-Ply Brown Shell pickguard. The '60s P-Bass has Knurled Flat-Top control knobs for volume and tone.
